The Kapa’a High School junior varsity boys finished their season on a winning note Saturday by defeating the Waimea JV squad 6-1 to ice their KIF championship for the Boys JV soccer program.
Under the direction of head coach Kevin Cram, assistant coaches Mark Sassone and Matt Boldt, the Warriors’ JV boys finished the season with five wins, no losses, and one tie for the crown in that division.
Saturday’s game saw Gabe Roessler score two points along with Kahai Nakano adding a pair of goals to lead the win. The fifth goal for Kapa’a was secured by Coty Salausa, and a cross by Terrence Cuyo was inadvertently sunk by a Waimea player for point number six.
Waimea’s sole goal in that outing came with the clock running out as Froilan Tyler broke the plane preventing a shut-out.
