A 37-year-old man who was stabbed Tuesday night is in critical condition at Wilcox Memorial Hospital, and a 29-year-old Kilauea man was arrested for the crime.
At 7:37 p.m. Tuesday, the 37-year-old victim, who was living in his car on the North Shore, was stabbed following an altercation in Kilauea, said Cyndi Mei Ozaki, county public information officer.
According to information heard on the police scanner, the incident occurred on Kaikala Street and the man was stabbed once in the upper back, and once in the back of the neck.
Paulus Gamachuu, 29, of Kilauea, was arrested for second-degree attempted murder at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday following a police investigation, said Ozaki. He is currently being held at the KPD cell block, she said. KPD officials continue to investigate, Ozaki said.
