Ben Alfred Dyre, Sr. of Kalihiwai, went home to meet his Lord on Jan. 4, 2004 at the age of 84.
Born in Boise, Idaho on Aug. 11, 1919, he was a World War II veteran and business owner in Kobe, Japan for over 50 years. He is survived by his wife, Sharleen of Kobe, Japan; son, Ben Alfred Dyre, Jr. of Auburn, Wash.; two daughters, April Karen Fauske of Spoken, Wash. and Holly Melinda Dyre of Kalihiwai; six grandchildren, Dolly, Elliot and Otto Fauske, Pearle, Ruby and Lincoln Dyre; sister, Gloria Esther Bernacchi of Reno, Nev.
Private service was held at Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
