Additional reports on the faux earthquake of Thursday night continue to come into The Garden Island from across the island.
Tim Andres of Kilauea sent an e-mail asking: “Uncovering the real explaination might prove difficult, but I’m certain it would be interesting. No seismic record? I’d like to ask this question of an expert, If there is a noise and accompaning vibration large enough to damage things and is heard over 100 sq. miles what agencies should be able to detect and identify it.”
A worker at Kalapaki called and said it appeared that military aircraft were operating off the coast of Lihu’e when the shock wave or whatever it was struck at about 8 p.m.
Another caller said she heard rattling and felt shaking all the ways over in Waimea. Reports yesterday had the event happening from Wailua to the North Shore.
