With the state championships looming for girls softball and girls soccer starting on Wednesday, Feb. 11, late breaking changes in the schedules were announced Monday night by Dennis Anderson of the Hawai‘i High School Athletic Association (HHSAA).
Waimea High School girls softball team will meet the defending HHSAA champion Kailua on Wednesday with game time scheduled for 5 p.m. at the University of Hawai‘i Softball Stadium.
Originally, Waimea was slated to meet Mililani who will now face off against the Baldwin Bears of the MIL.
The change also affects the Kaua‘i High School girls soccer team who will now face off against A‘iea in the state girls soccer championships at the Waipio Soccer Park.
According to Anderson, the changes came about due to organizers failing to follow one of the rules governing the scheduling during their Bracket Day meeting.
