Training funds available
The Workforce Development Division of the State Department of Labor would like to announce the availability of the Employment and Training Fund (ETF) specifically designed for private employers on Kaua’i.
This fund is designed to upgrade current employee and employer skills so that Hawai’i businesses can remain competitive in today’s global marketplace.
Metsch joins RE/MAX Kauai
After 15 years of assisting buyers and sellers in Colorado, Dan Metsch, moved to Kaua’i and will work as an agent at RE/MX Kauai.
Committed to the real estate profession since 1988, Dan started his own firm in Boulder, specializing in all aspects of real estate, including residential, commercial, and property management.
Realtors offer two courses
The Kauai Board of Realtors will be offering two real estate continuing education courses on February 24 at the Kauai Marriott Hotel.
Registration for the morning class begins at 8:30 a.m. while signups for the afternoon class start at 1 p.m.
The first morning course is titled “Methodologies to Listing the Buyer” while the afternoon class is called “Agency, Discovery and Disclosure.”
Center honors employees
West Kauai Medical Center/KVMH and Mahelona Medical Center/SMMH celebrated healthy employees with certificates and rewards on Tuesday and Wednesday.
A total of 63 employees, 22 at Mahelona and 41 at West Kauai Medical Centers received this honor in appreciation for being healthy employees (0 sick leave) for six months from July through December 2003.
The Kauai Region of Hawaii Health Systems Corporation (HHSC), West Kauai Medical Center/KVMH, Mahelona Medical Center/SMMH, and West Kauai Clinics also honored four employees for setting “standards of excellence in their work for their facilities.”
Alberta Phillips received the “Excellence Award” which recognizes an employee who consistently demonstrates the core values of Integrity, Caring, Collaboration Commitment, Innovation, and Community.
Beth Mallia was awarded the “Innovation Award” for her work in bringing on the Fetal Ultrasound telemedicine connection with Kapiolani Hospital on O’ahu. The “Spirit Award” was given to Eileen Nakaahiki for providing outstanding service to patients and physicians.
The “Community Award” went to Elaine Morita for her personal dedication in keeping the holiday and seasonal spirit fresh at Mahelona Medical Center with her lobby displays.
