LIHU‘E — Players attired in colorful soccer outfits and parents, many donning colorful beach umbrellas took advantage of a break in the weekend weather to fill the North Vidinha soccer fields as the Kaua‘i Soccer Association (KSA) entered its second week of an 11-week season in Hawai‘i Youth Soccer Association (HYSA) play.
One of the changes in the organization’s play calendar from the 2003 season is that there will be no games on the Westside due to Hanapepe Stadium complex being reconfigured for baseball and the upcoming Senior Softball State championships.
Additionally, there are no fields large enough to accomodate the program so all games scheduled for the Westside will be relocated to the North Vidinha complex.
Anahola Park, another of the HYSA play sites, will be utilized for U8 and U10 games only with game times being adjusted to accomodate the limited parking and traffic congestion in the area.
On weeks where Anahola Park games are scheduled, U12 games will be played at the New Kapa‘a Ball Park across the Kapa‘a Armory.
Following a full slate of games at North Vidinha on Saturday, this week Saturday’s games will be played at both the Anahola Park for the U8 and U10 teams, the Kapa‘a Beach Park for the U12 games, and the New Kapa‘a Ball Park for the U14 through U19 games.
