14U results from Kalaheo
Vincent Vea netted 14 points to lead the Westside Hornets to a 48-42 win over the Kalaheo Pistons in the first of three Monday night games at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center in the county’s 14 Under boys basketball league.
Reggie Virgilia finished with 10 points to lead Kalaheo.
Tyrus Ceria-Lux finished with 13 points to lead the Lihu‘e Breakaway’s 65-15 win over Kilauea who got four points apiece from Tom Patch and tyler Hadley.
Bradley Semana and Lawrence Garcia burned the twine with 14 points each as they led the Puhi Rebels to a 75-38 showing over the Lihu‘e Lakers who were led by Aric Causino’s 17 points in the final Monday night game.
Johnny Ruaboro finished with nine points to lead the Puhi Rebels to a 47-32 win over Waimea And 1 who got 16 points from James Sagucio on Wednesday night.
The final St. Patrick’s Day affair saw Elijah Phillips net 16 points to lead Kapa‘a to a 48-43 edge over the Kalaheo Pistons who got nine points each from Hino Kanahele and Kekoa Prem.
EK Lions Golf coming April 17
The East Kaua‘i Lions Foundation is accepting applications for their 8th Annual Golf Tournament which will be held on Saturday, Apr. 17 at the Wailua Golf Course.
Entry fee is $50 per golfer and includes luncheon, beverages, and chances for door prizes. The fee does not include greens fee and cart rental.
Tournament format is “Individual Low Net.”
A grand prize of a “Las Vegas Trip” will be awarded to the 8th Place finisher.
Closest to the hole winners receive $100/hole.
Application deadline is Apr. 10 with proceeds going to benefit sight and hearing projects, the Lions Quest curriculum for the prevention of drug abuse and a diversity of service projects for schools, hospitals, public parks, beaches, and other community services.

HSJGA Rules Clinic Moved
The Hawai‘i State Junior Golf Association (HSJGA) is presenting an outdoor USGA Rules Clinic at the Kaua‘i Lagoons Golf Club (originally scheduled at the Wailua Municipal Golf course) on Sunday, Mar. 28 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Participants will be able to see ruling scenarios enacted in a bunker, water hazard, tee box, and in other tee-to-green situations. All participants will receive the 2004 USGA Rules of Golf book.
Don Hirata, PGA and veteran USGA Rules Official Mary Bea Porter-King, who has officiated at the Masters, USGA Women’s Open, USGA Senior Open, USGA Girls and Junior Championships, Walker Cup, and NCAA National championships will conduct the clinic.
The clinic is free for HSJGA members (including siblings and parents), and $5 for nonmembers.
