Levi Mawae of Kekaha died April 26, 2004, at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital at the age of 76.
A groundskeeper, he was born May 10, 1927, in Hawai‘i.
He is survived by his wife: Rose “Loke” Mawae of Kekaha; two sons: Levi (Loel) Mawae, Jr. of Anahola and James (Nanea) Mawae of O‘ahu; six daughters: Tina (Mike) Girod of Kaumakani, Rosemabel (Happy) Kanahele of Kekaha, Bernice Mawae of Wisconsin, Princess Mawae of Waimanalo, Maryleen (Bobby) Lujan of Kekaha and Lurline Mawae of Wisconsin; one sister: Albertina Goias of California; 24 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Monday, May 3, at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel in Koloa; viewing will be from 9:30 to 11:45 a.m. with service at noon. Cremation will follow. Scattering of cremains will take place on May 8, at 8 a.m. at Ahukini.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Julio Pascua
Julio Abilardo Pascua of Hanama‘ulu, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on April 26, 2004, at the age of 73.
Born in Kealia, Kaua‘i on July 15, 1930, he was a retired caretaker.
He is survived by two sisters, Florence (Frederico) Bergonia of Hanama‘ulu and Lordes Sauer of Kailua, O‘ahu; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 8 a.m. on Monday, May 3, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church; Mass at 9 a.m. followed by burial at Kauai Memorial Gardens. Casual attire is suggested.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Seichi Higashi
Seichi Higashi of Kalaheo, died April 24, 2004, at Hale Kupuna Heritage Home at the age of 89.
Born May 8, 1914, in Makaweli, he was a retired mechanic supervisor for Gay & Robinson.
He is survived by two sons: Allan (Charlotte) Higashi of Honolulu and Alvin Higashi of Honolulu; four daughters: Harriet (Ronald) Kekona of Honolulu, Elaine (George) Nohara of Honolulu, Joy (Melvin) Saito of California, and Pamela (Eldon) Ekimoto of Kalaheo; 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; one brother: Kumao Higashi of Lihue; several nieces and nephews.
Services have been scheduled for Monday, May 3, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Kalaheo. Visitiation will be at 9:30 a.m. Services start at 10:30 a.m. with burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens in Kapaia.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
