David Agmata Bali
David Agmata Bali of Hanama‘ulu, died March 30, 2004, at Queen’s Medical Center at the age of 73.
A mechanic for Lihu‘e Plantation, he also was a care home owner and foster parent for 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gregorio and Juliana Agmata Bali and brothers Abraham “Buddy” Bali and sisters Consuelo “Connie” Cruz and Virginia “Gini” Bali Hermado. He is survived by his wife, Natividad “Naty” Baris Bali of Hanama‘ulu;
sister: Rosita “Rose” Bali Boloran of O‘ahu; brothersinlaw: Jaime Boloran and Jose Hernando, both of O‘ahu; one sister-in-law: Peggy Bali of O‘ahu; mother-in-law: Engracia Baris; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family requests that flowers be omitted. Services will be on Friday, April 16, at Immaculate Conception Church from 6 to 9 p.m. with Mass at 7 p.m. Friends and family can visit again at 3906 Hoohuki St. in Hanama‘ ulu for an overnight vigil with the casket. Funeral services will continue on Saturday, April 17, at 3906 Hoohuki St. from 8 to 10 a.m. with Mass starting at 10 a.m. and burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.

Emily Rapozo Souza of Kapahi died April 6, 2004, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 90.
Born Feb. 13, 1914, in Hanama‘ulu, she was preceded in death by her husband: Manuel P. Souza.
She is survived by three sons: Dennis P. Souza of Honolulu, Warren S. Souza of Honolulu, and Patrick J. (Betty) Souza of California; two sisters:

Services are scheduled for Tuesday April 13, at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Kapa‘a. Visitation starts at 10:30 a.m. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
Susumu Tada
Susumu Tada of Kapa‘a died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on April 6, 2004, at the age of 90. Born in Kapa‘a, on June 14, 1913, he was an overseer with the County of Kaua‘i.
He is survived by his wife, Laura; two sons, Michael (Lynne) Tada of Los Angeles, Calif., and Denis (Rene) Tada of Honolulu; two daughters, Mildred (Marven) Sato of Makakilo, O‘ahu and Winifred Tada of Honolulu; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister, Kinuyo Kimura of Kapolei, O‘ahu; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Apr. 10, at the Kapaa Hongwanji Mission; service at 4:30 p.m. Casual attire is suggested and the family asks that flowers be omitted.

Emily Ancla Viquelia of Kaumakani, died April 5, 2004, at Straub Hospital at the age of 64.
Born Nov. 28, 1929, in Hawai‘i, she was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband: Frederick Viquelia of Kaumakani; seven children: Celeste Viquelia of Waimea, Yolette (Eddie) Corpus of Texas, Gregg (Joy) Viquelia of Ewa Beach, O‘ahu, Robin Viquelia of Kaumakani, Stacey (Lisa) Pensacola of Florida, Kriss Viquelia of Oregon and Alsen “Sonnie” Viquelia of Kaumakani; five sisters: Maxima (Robert) Salvatore of Lihu‘e,
Frances (Fausto) Gragasin of Waimea, Jean Stenson of Alabama, Alice Canales of Kekaha, and Mary (Tex) Wilson of Las Vegas, Nev.; two brothers: Tony (Betty) Bernaldes of San Jose, Calif., and John (Lani) Bernaldes of Waimea; 18 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends may call on Monday, April 12, at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 6 to 9 p.m. and again on Tuesday, April 13, at Waimea Sacred Hearts Church from 9 to 10:45 a.m. where Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. by Father Larry. Burial to follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.

Kazutsugu Morita of Kapa‘a, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on April 7, 2004 at the age of 93.
Born in Lihu‘e, on Feb. 23, 1911, he was the proprietor of Pono Studio.
He is survived by his wife, Fusae; two sons, Gary K. (Susan) Morita of Kailua, O‘ahu and Clifford Morita of Honolulu, O‘ahu; daughter, JoAnn Ishii of Honolulu, O‘ahu; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Michie Hironaka of Lihu‘e.
Friends may visit with the family from 2 to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, April 13, at the Kapaa Hongwanji Mission; service at 3 p.m.

Mary Ellen Kuuleionaona Kahale Smimazu of Makaweli, died at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital on April 5, 2004, at the age of 57.
Born in Puuwai, Ni‘ihau on Aug. 21, 1946, she was a Child Care Giver with Kauai Economic Opportunity, a Moral Welfare Recreation employee with Pacific Missile Range Facility and also served as an Evangelist with Ke Akua Mana Church in Kapa‘a.
She is preceded in death by parents, Elia Kinia Kahale and Lile Kanohea Kanahele. She is survived by her husband, Masaichi; two daughters, Marian “Shigeko” Shimazu of Waimea and Corinna “Leiko” Shimazu of Waimea; four grandchildren; four brothers, Howell (Betty) Kaleohano of Hanapepe, Edward “Makule” (Margaret) Kahale of Makaweli and Henry “Kila” Kahale of Kekaha; four sisters, Lily Mina of Hilo, Eleanor “Elena” Kanahele of Kekaha, Mabel “Tita” (Lawrence) Kaneapua of Hanapepe and Kamala (Alfred) Garcia of Port Lavaca, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews and
cousins; two hanai daughters, Rosemary “Pat” (Johnny) Vaivao of Kekaha and Connie “Tano” (Kaimana) Castaneda and three hanai grandchildren.
