First Team All-American Senior Scholar Travis Aribon earned a $500 scholarship from the National Football League Players Association along with an engraved plaque on May 29 at the 44th Annual Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc., National Scholars All-American Banquet held at the Colorado Springs Resort, Walt Disney World, Orlando, Florida.
The eighth-grader is the son of Rogelio and Tanya Aribon of Hanamaulu. All-American Senior Scholars, (eighth-grade and above) were the only ones eligible for scholarships at the Awards Program Banquet. Aribon was the only Senior Scholar eligible from the State of Hawai‘i. A First Team All-American is one of the top 35 football players for his grade nationwide. A Second Team All-American consists of those scholars who are above an annually increasing final score (GPA and addendum), ranging last year from 97.5-100.5.
