Richard Ernest Maghanoy Sr.
Richard Ernest Maghanoy Sr. died on Feb. 25, 2004, at Valley Medical Center in Seattle at the age of 59.
He was born in Lihu‘e on Nov. 11, 1944. He is survived by Doreen Lopez; three sons, Richard (Thia) Ernest Maghanoy Jr., Ricky L. Maghanoy and James A. Lopez, all of Seattle; three daughters, Rosemaria (Wayne) Manago of Kapa‘a, Christina U. Maghanoy and Cheryl L. Maghanoy, both of Seattle; 13 grandchildren; two brothers, Arthur (Carol) Maghanoy of Hanama‘ulu and Albert Maghanoy Sr. of Lihu‘e; two sisters, Leila Suguitan of Hanama‘ulu and Rehena (Jackie) Ancheta of Lihu‘e; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held on Saturday, June 26, at Immaculate Conception Church in Kapaia at 9:30 a.m., Mass to follow.
Private burial is scheduled. Casual attire is requested.
Arrangements are being handled by Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Maghanoy.
Gilbert Medeiros, Sr.
Gilbert Medeiros Sr. of Kalaheo Ahupua‘a died June 16, 2004, at Straub Hospital at the age of 77.
Born March 8, 1927, on the Moku Puni o Kaua‘i, he was a welder for Grove Farm in Puhi.
Preceded in death by his son Joey Medeiros and grandson Kalama Nobriga, he is survivd by his wife: Mary K. Medeiros; three daughters: Elizabeth (Jeffery) Albao, Gail (Greg) Nobriga and Mary (John) Adviento; three sons: Gilbert (Clarita) Medeiros, Jr., Antone “Max” (Renee) Medeiros and Hoburn Medeiros; one sister: Bernice Gordon; one brother: Anthony “Sonny” Medeiros; 14 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, June 24, at Holy Cross Church from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. where a Celebration of Life Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. by Father Keahi and Father Biz.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary.
Anne Baldwin
Anne Baldwin of Koloa, died June 17, 2004, at her residence at the age of 87. A homemaker, she was born Jan. 17, 1917, in Kekaha.
She is survived by one son: Peter (Linda) Baldwin of Koloa; two daughters: Mary Baldwin of O‘ahu and Cecilia (Greg) Williams of Koloa; one sister: Betsy Toulon; and five grandchildren.
In celebrating her life, there will be a gathering of friends on Friday, June 25, at 5:30 p.m. at the family’s residence at 5451 Wailaau Road in Koloa.
Donations can be made to Wilcox Hospital Foundation or Hui o Laka. Casual attire is suggested.
