LIHU‘E — The Junior Olympic softball league was back in action after a week off due to the Kaua‘i Fantasy Tournament, which was held last week Thursday thru Saturday and the Carlsbad tournament earlier this week. Koloa (South side) traveled to Isenberg park to take on undefeated Hokuala in regular season play, Thursday night. The Wes Syde Gurls traveled to Kapa‘a in a rematch game against Na Koa.
Hokuala pitcher Dusty Farias picked up the win as they took the contest 22-7 in three innings of play. Farias allowed seven runs on two hits, walked nine and struck out a batter. The defense committed no errors in three innings of play. Calyssa Braun took the loss for the South Side and was relieved by Moki Aki. Braun allowed 21 runs on15 hits and walked seven batters. Aki pitched to four batters before the game was called due to a 15 run rule. Aki allowed a run on a hit. The South Side defense committed six errors.
