Boy Scout executive and Rotarian Godfrey “Kaipo” Kealalio II of Kapa‘a died Thursday, August 19 in Honolulu following a lengthy hospitalization.
Kealalio moved to Kaua‘i from Aiea, O‘ahu in 1983 to become the District Executive for Kaua‘i for the Boy Scouts of America.
He was a Vietnam veteran, a member of the Kapa‘a Rotary Club, and a coach for many community and high school sports.
Kealalio is survived by his wife Joan, daughter Ki‘ilani and sons Kaipo and James.
Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday at the Borthwick Mortuary in Honolulu.
A Kaua‘i service is being set by Kaua‘i Rotarians for Tuesday, August 31 at Vidinha Stadium at 7 p.m.
