Once again, the members of the Kaua‘i Surfing Association (KSA) will be holding it’s Sixth Annual Ho‘onua O Ke Kai Ocean Festival. The event will be held August 7 and 8 at Prince Kuhio Beach (PK’s) fronting the Beach House
Once again, the members of the Kaua‘i Surfing Association (KSA) will be holding it’s Sixth Annual Ho‘onua O Ke Kai Ocean Festival. The event will be held August 7 and 8 at Prince Kuhio Beach (PK’s) fronting the Beach House Restaurant.
Heats will kick off bright and early at 7:00 a.m. and heat schedules will be posted on the beach. The awards ceremony and dinner will commence on Sunday, August 8 at Joe’s on the Green at 6:00 p.m.

The deadline for early entry by mail is July 31. Additional entry blanks can be picked up at Progressive Expressions, Nukumoi Surf Company, Kai Kane, and Hanalei Surf Company. The entry fee is $10.00 per event entered and while beach entries will be available, the fee at that time will be $15.00 per event and space will be limited.
The divisions include: Short Board (12 and under Menehune, 13-14 boys, 15-18 juniors, 17 and under girls, open womens 18 and over, open mens, and 45 and over masters), Long Board (17 and under boys, open men 18 and over, 17 and under girls, open womens 18+, Morey Doyle Open, and Keiki Push-in 6 and under), and Bodyboard (12 and under menehune, 13-15 boys, 16 and over open mens, open womens all ages, and drop knee).

The principles and purposes of the Kaua‘i Surfing Association are to promote fun and to provide scholarships to the surfing youth of Kaua‘i to continue their future in amateur surf competition.
