The Garden Island newspaper is holding an Election 2004 Candidates Forum on Tuesday, October 5 from 6 – 9 p.m.
A similar forum was held during the 2002 election season, and the event is again being held at the Kauai Veterans Center on Kapule Highway across from the Lihu‘e Airport.
This free, community gathering is open to the public and will be led by moderator Pam Brown. The Forum features questions posed by three reporters from The Garden Island to the candidates.
The reporters will ask each candidate participating an individual question. The candidate has a three-minute time limit to respond.
Candidates invited to the Forum include those who received enough votes in the County Council primary election tally to be placed on the general election ballot, and Democratic and Republican candidates runfor Kaua‘i State House and State Senate seats.
The moderator will briefly introduce each candidate prior to the beginning of their responding to questions, and will provide background information on the candidate to the audience.
The Garden Island’s Election Forum is to be videotaped by Ho‘ike Kaua‘i Community Television for rebroadcast at later dates, and is to be audio recorded for future radio broadcast.
Dicky Chang’s Wala‘au cable TV show plans to feature highlights of the forum during their regular broadcast.
