The PGA Grand Slam of Golf will take place this year November 21-23 at Poipu Bay Golf Course on Kauai’s south shore.
This will be the 12th consecutive year Poipu Bay and the Hyatt Regency Kauai Resort & Spa have hosted the prestigious event.
Two of the competitors, Tiger Woods (Masters) and Michael Campbell (U.S. Open) have already reserved their spots in Po’ipu.
The PGA Grand Slam of Golf is the most difficult golf competition in the world in which to gain entry.
The PGA of America invites only four players to participate — the winners of that year’s four major championships: The Masters, U.S. Open, British Open, and The PGA Championship.
The PGA Grand Slam of Golf is a 36-hole stroke-play event conducted over two days, featuring a total purse of $1,000,000.
The 2005 PGA Grand Slam of Golf will kick off with a Pro Am on November 21.
The elite foursome will begin first round play on November 22, continuing November 23 with final round play.
Last year’s participants in the PGA Grand Slam of Golf were Phil Mickelson, Vijay Singh, Retief Goosen and Todd Hamilton, with Mickelson taking first place honors. In past years, the event has included other golf notables such as Tiger Woods, Justin Leonard, Davis Love III, David Duval, David Toms, Tom Lehman, Paul Azinger, Paul Lawrie, Jose Maria Olazabal, Ernie Els, Lee Janzen, Mark O’Meara, and Greg Norman.
TNT, one of Turner Broadcasting System’s most prominent cable networks, will televise the PGA Grand Slam of Golf to more than 88.9 million U.S. homes and more than 100 countries worldwide.
