Lawrence Asing, Jr.
Larry Asing died on Sept 24, 2005, at the age of 71.
Born May 5, 1934, in Papakolea, he lived in Olomana, Kailua, Hanalei and Kilauea, and Waimanalo, O’ahu. He worked for many years for Hawaiian Telephone Company, the promotion teams of Hawaiian and Aloha Airlines, and the Air National Guard. A member of the class of ’53, Na Pua Maeole o’ Kamehameha, he will be remembered for his love of a good joke and the joy he brought through his music in Waikiki and on Kaua’i for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Irene Asing; son, Lawrence Kahaku Asing III, of Hanalei; and daughters, Sharen (Kaiwi) of Mililani; Haunani (Marston) of Kilauea; and Rene Kehau (Schofield) of Pahoa; brothers, Patrick Asing of Waimea, Darryl Asing of San Jose, Calif., and sisters Judy (Mariano) of Kent, Wash., and Barbara (Lopes Young) of Renton, Wash.; 13 grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 1, at Bernice Pauahi Bishop Memorial Chapel of the Kamehameha Schools, Kapalama Campus, Honolulu. Private scattering of ashes.

James “Jimmy” Hasegawa of Hanapepe, died Sept. 24, 2005, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 68.
Born Oct. 12, 1936, in Hanapepe, he was a refuge technician for the state of Hawai’i.
Preceded in death by his parents Tamitaro and Masako Hasegawa; two sisters, Jay Santos and Gladys Fujii, and brother Wally Hasegawa, he is survived by nine children: Clay (Millicent) Igarashi, Clyde (Cookie) Igarashi, Tammy (Rick) Steinbauer, Tamisa A’awapuhi, Samenta (Les) Jacinto, Tamio (Noralyn) Hasegawa, Michael Ignacio, Duke Taniguchi, and Maile Taniguchi; brothers: Kunio, Masao and Paul Hasegawa; sister: Beatrice Kanda; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends may call on Friday, Sept. 30, at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and again on Sunday, Oct. 2, at Salt Pond pavilion at 11 a.m.
Casual attire is suggested.

Antone Vilche
Antone “Tony” Rivera Vilche of Sunnyvale, Calif., died at home on Aug. 26, 2005, after a short illness at the age of 67.
Born June 13, 1938, he was preceded in death by two sisters: Alice Soares and Helen Dastrup. He is survived by one son, Michael (Angela) Villche and three grandchildren. He is also survived by four sisters: Carmen (Frank) Perry, Josephine (Antone) Corral, Mary Clark, Lilllian (Don) Feuerbacher, and two brothers: Joseph (Carmena) Vilche and Manuel (Marylou) Vilche. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be held at Holy Cross Church on Oct. 8, with visitation at 10 a.m. and Mass at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
