Kaua’i Police Department investigators are looking for the man who robbed the Lihu’e Chevron gas station on Rice Street Wednesday night.
Officers reported that a man entered the attendant’s booth and confronted the female attendant on duty.
After taking an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled on foot, said Kaua’i County Public Information Officer Mary Daubert.
The robbery took place at around 9 p.m.
The attendant called 911 shortly afterward, and police officers, Kaua’i Fire Department and American Medical Response personnel immediately responded.
The attendant was treated by fire personnel and emergency medical technicians at the scene, and released.
The extent of her injuries, and whether or not she continued her shift at the station, could not be ascertained yesterday.
KPD Lt. Roy Asher said that a weapon was used during the robbery, but he did not say what kind of weapon it was.
He pointed out that officers with KPD’s Investigative Services Bureau are working on the case, and that officers are looking at “persons of interest.”
An investigation is ongoing.
