Kaua’i also posted two shutouts, a 7-0 win over Waimea on Sept. 30 and a 42-0 drubbing of Kapa’a on Oct. 28.
The three-time defending KIF champions (5-0-1) head into Hanapepe Stadium tonight with a full head of steam.
Kaua’i has had the luxury of a week off and head coach Keli’i Morgado and his staff certainly needed the time off to prepare for a team that could cause problems for the Red Raiders.
Kamehameha-Maui (5-6) is making its first-ever state tournament appearance and according to Morgado, the Warriors’ offensive attack mirrors Waimea’s, with their run first, pass second scheme.
