Calvin Ebinger
Calvin Anthony Ebinger of Kapahi died at Garden Isle Health Care on Nov. 29, 2005, at the age of 64.
Preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Mabel O. Ebinger, also of Kapahi, he is survived by his wife, Coraline “Daling” Ebinger of Kapahi; three daughters: Cindy Lou Ebinger Moura (Stan) of Hanapepe, Linda Marie Ebinger of Kapahi, and Clarissa Ebinger Pacheco (Wayne Jr.) of Kilauea; one grandson, Louis Silva Jr. of Kapahi; one hanai grandson of Puhi; sister Christine Ebinger Stier (Bruce) of Mississippi; two hanai daughters of Hanama’ulu; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
A celebration of his life will be held at the family home at 4 p.m. on Jan. 7. Casual attire is suggested. Scattering of his ashes will be held at a later date.
Cremation was done by Garden Island Mortuary.
Caitryn Ryan Hanna
Caitryn Ryan Hanna, infant daughter of Shawn and Sandy Hanna died on Dec. 24, 2005, at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle, Wash.
She is survived by her parents Shawn and Sandy Hanna and siblings Andrew and Bailey Hanna, formerly of Koloa, and now of Sedro-Woolley, Wash. She is also survived by paternal grandparents, Patrick and Glenice Hanna of Sedro-Woolley, Wash.; maternal grandparents, Randy and Nancy Harker of Koloa; maternal great-grandfathers, Ron Harker of Bain-bridge Island, Wash. and George Koch of Hawthorne, Calif; maternal great-grandmother, Millie Falvey of Las Vegas, Nev.; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service for Caitryn will be held on Friday, Dec. 30, at 11 a.m. at the Skagit Baptist Church in Sedro-Woolley, with Pastor Randy Blue officiating.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley, Wash. Friends and family are invited to share their prayers and thoughts with the Hanna family and sign the online guest register at www.lemleychapel.com.
Margaret Fernandez
Margaret Rosa Fernandez of Pukalani, Maui, died Dec. 27, 2005, at Maui Memorial Medical Center at the age of 73.
Born Oct. 19, 1932, in Lihu’e, she was a retired telephone operator for Kula Hospital.
She is survived by her husband: Antone “Sonny” Fernandez; mother: Adeline Rosa; sons: Tony (Darilyn) Fernandez; daughters: Antoinette (Randy) Abreu and Juliette Fernandez-Kim; six grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Service will be at St. Joseph Church on Saturday, Dec. 31, with visitation at 9 a.m. and Mass at 10:30 a.m. followed by burial at Maui Veterans Cemetery at 11:30 a.m.
Aloha attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Ballard Family Mortuary.
Sakae Koike
Sakae Koike of Kekaha died on December 24, 2005, at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital at the age of 94. He was born in Koloa on Dec. 22, 1911, retired as a surveyor with Kekaha Plantation, was a self-employed accountant and also was an insurance representative.
He is survived by his wife Fumiko Koike of Kekaha, two sons; Roy (Judy) Koike of Los Angeles, Lester Koike of Singapore, two daughters; Mazie (Robert) Kozuki of Kapolei and Alma (Robert) Yotsuda of Kapa’a, one brother, Shiro (Vicky) Koike, one sister, Betty Furuhashi, both of Honolulu, five grandchildren and six great-grand-children.
Services were private. Family requests no Koden.
Arrangements were handled by Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
Carol Morimoto
Carol Kazuko Morimoto of Wailua died at home on Dec. 24, 2005, at the age of 46.
Born on Feb. 6, 1959, she was a viceprincipal at Chiefess Kamakahele Middle School.
She is survived by her husband, Roy Morimoto; two sons, Michael and Shawn Morimoto, all of Wailua; parents, Herbert and Yaeko Kurisu of Wailua; brothers, Alvin Kurisu of Honolulu, O’ahu, Robin Kurisu of Irvine , Calif., and Daniel (Reina) Kurisu of Kaimuki, O’ahu; numerous uncles, aunts, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family from 3 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2006, at the Garden Island Mortuary chapel; service officiated by Rev. Mary E. Koppel will begin at 4 p.m. Casual attire is suggested and that flowers be omitted.
