Hanalei Canoe Club will begin their 2006 outrigger canoe paddling season on Feb. 1 with a women’s practice at 5 p.m. and a men’s practice on Feb. 2 at 5 p.m.
Women’s practice will be on Mondays and Wednesdays at 5 p.m. and Saturdays at 8 a.m. (co-ed).
Men’s practice will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5 p.m. and Saturday at 8 a.m. (co-ed).
Youth practice begins on March 16 at 2:45 p.m. for 12 and under and 3:30 for 18 and under.
Youth practices will continue on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the same times.
Hui O’Akahi Akahi, a recreational paddling group, meets Monday and Friday at 9:45 a.m.
The Hanalei Canoe Club offers members the opportunity to paddle using one-man canoes and ocean kayaks as well as six-man canoes. A weight room is available on site to further training goals.
All interested paddlers, from novice to elite, are invited to join the group for an exciting season of training, racing and family fun.
