Margaret Lokelani “Grams” “Tutu” Sanico of Honolulu, and formerly of Kapa’a, died on Dec. 17, 2005, at the age of 78.
Born in Huelo, Maui, on April 23, 1927, she was a cafeteria worker for St. Patrick’s School, and a kitchen helper at Wally Wok.
She is survived by daughters: Doreen “Doe” (Thomas) Kong of Honolulu; Marie (James) Torio of Anahola; Coleen “Coke” Tario of Honolulu; Ronella “Ronnie” Sanico of Honolulu; son, Jeff “Chuck” (Wendy) Sanico of Honolulu; brothers: Charles Maalea of Maui and Alexander “Alika” Maalea of Florida; sisters: Winona Nunes of Wailuku, Maui, and Ellen (Howard) Yap of Pukalani, Maui; 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 7 at Borthwick Mortuary in Honolulu. A service is at 1:30 p.m.
Committal service will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 9, at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Honolulu.
The family asks that flowers be omitted.
Arrangements are being handled by professionals at Borthwick Mortuary.
