In an effort to show support for the community, Kaua’i boys head soccer coach Mark Brandeburg sent his team to the Wilcox Hospital Long Term Care unit for some Christmas caroling on Dec. 22.
Brandeburg said the boys and clients had a really good time at the program and he’s had the boys participate in the event for the past several years.
In the KIF boys soccer standings, Kapa’a is up by one point over Waimea, and Kaua’i sits in third place with one point.
Kapa’a is 2-1-1, Waimea is 2-1, and Kaua’i has an 0-2-1 record.
Meanwhile, the Warrior girls are dominating the girls’ soccer scene with a 4-0 record and 8 points.
Kaua’i is 1-2 with 2 points and Waimea is winless at 0-3.
The Red Raiders go up against Waimea, Saturday, Jan. 7 for a critical KIF soccer game at Hanapepe Stadium.
KIF basketball tips off on Tuesday, with Kapa’a battling Waimea at the Bernice Hundley Gymnasium.
Start time for the JV boys is 5:30 p.m., with the varsity beginning 20 minutes after the JV contest.
Waimea and Kaua’i battle in a crucial softball match-up on Wednesday at Isenberg Field, starting at 5:30 p.m.
KIF paddling begins its preseason on Jan. 7, with a long distance race from Hule’ia to Wailua River, commencing at 10 a.m.
