Derek Edward Kooiman of Lihu’e, died at Wilcox Hospital on Dec. 30, 2005, at the age of 25. He was born in Wisconsin on July 7, 1980, and was employed at Hesse Carpets.
He is survived by his parents, Mark and Nancy Kooiman, and sister, Sara Kooiman, of Colorado; and grandparents, Thomas R. Dirienzo of Wisconsin and Rosemarie St. Louis of Wisconsin.
Also surviving are aunts, Donna, Karen, Mary Jo, Betty, Debbie, Laurie and Kathy; and uncles Mike, Dirk, Danny and Joe; and numerous cousins.
Private services in Colorado will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are being handled by Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
