Mahalo for help with drill
On Jan. 6, Wilcox Elementary School conducted its annual off campus school evacuation drill. Approximately 1,000 people were involved in the successful completion of this process. Wilcox Elementary would like to acknowledge the support provided in the planning, development and implementation of this evacuation. Kauai Police Department, Kauai Fire Department, County Civil Defense, County Parks Dept., Vidinha Stadium personnel, KONG Radio, The Garden Island newspaper, community volunteers, and teachers, staff, and students all supported this process in a variety of capacities and we thank them for their efforts.
In addition we would like the community at large/motorists for their patience and consideration in maintaining a safe community for the needs of our keiki.

I would like to acknowledge and thank my mother, Janet Haffner, from Kekaha for all the wonderful things she has done for me and my family over the years. I am so grateful to God for a mother that has shown me the love of God not in just what she says, but in all the things that she does.
I wish that everybody on the planet could have a Mom as great as mine. I am not writing this because it is her birthday or because of a special event, but simply because I love her and I really want the world to know it.
Everyone reading this should really take the time to thank your Mom and Dad for all the sacrifices and love they have shown you. We never know when the day will come when they will be unable to hear it or read it, so do it today.

President should set example
The President should not be exempt from any law. As the leader of our country he should be setting an exemplary example. Isn’t that why the Republicans ousted President Clinton? Morale conduct is morale conduct be it of a sexual nature or lying to the citizens of the USA. I see that as far worse an offense.
