Rose Maria Braun of Hanama’ulu died Jan. 11, 2006, at her home at the age of 81.
Born May 26, 1924, in Hanama’ulu, she was a homemaker and former employee of Big Save Inc., Coco Palms Hotel, Lihue Store and Hawaiian Fruit Packers.
She is survived by her husband Robert G. Braun; three children: Sharlene (Edward) Muraoka, Eric (Julie) Braun, and Colin Braun; three sisters: Dolores Salcedo, Belin Rellin, and Loling Carios; one brother, Alexander Manandic; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family starting at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 22, at Kapaa Missionary Church, where a memorial service will be celebrated at 2 p.m.; scattering of ashes at a later date.
Casual attire is suggested and flowers be omitted. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.

Jane S. Souza of ‘Oma’o died Jan. 13, 2006, at home at the age of 90.
Born June 7, 1915, on Kaua’i, she was a retired pineapple-cannery worker.
She is survived by her husband: Antone Souza Jr. of ‘Oma’o, and sons: Denis (Beryl) Souza of ‘Oma’o and Kenneth (Carol) Souza of Kalaheo; one daughter: Patricia Carvalho of Lawa’i; two sisters: Ethel Farias and Bella Chandler, both of Kalaheo; 16 grandchildren; 35 great-grand-children and five great-great-grand-children; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 19, at St. Raphael’s Church, where Mass will begin at 10 a.m. officiated by Father Larry. Burial will be in St. Raphael’s Cemetery.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
