According to readers of Conde Nast, a travel magazine, the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa in Po’ipu is the top place to stay on Kaua’i, and one of the top places to stay in Hawai’i and the world.
The resort made the “Gold List” as among the 700 Best Places to Stay in the magazine’s latest readers’ poll, according to a press release from the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa.
Readers rated Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa as the best place to stay on Kaua’i with scores in the 90s for location, design and activities.
The Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa received an overall score of 88.1, making it the No. 1 choice on Kaua’i, and out-ranking more than 50 percent of the 20 resorts listed for the state of Hawai’i.
The highest overall score for all 700 operations listed was 90.1, putting the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa just two points from the top-rated resort.
One reader noted the beauty of the resort, saying, “It is integrated into nature. Even inside the hotel, sometimes you feel like you’re walking outside.” Another reader commented, “The golf (at Poipu Bay Golf Course) is excellent.”
Conde Nast editors collect data for their Readers’ Choice Survey from subscribers who rate resorts, hotels and cruise lines according to criteria that include rooms, service, food, location, design and activities, to render an overall score.
Magazine editors also ask readers for specific comments, to “reveal the property’s character.” Readers must first rate the resort as excellent or very good for primary qualification that narrows the list.
A property must also receive a “required minimum number of responses” to qualify.
Grand Hyatt Kaua’i Resort & Spa, overlooking Keoneloa Bay, has 602 guest rooms, each with its own lanai.
The resort includes six restaurants, six lounges, a water playground with waterfalls and a 150-foot water slide, a five-acre saltwater lagoon, tennis, ANARA Spa, and golf at the adjacent Poipu Bay Golf Course.
