Visitors are encouraged to submit their favorite shots from their time on Kaua‘i in one of the following categories: Beaches, Scenic, People, Nature, and Any Kine Aloha (everything else).
First-, second- and third-place winners will receive select prizes, and have their shots published in Essential Kauai’s Photo Spectacular special issue June 19, as well as online at www.essentialkauai.com.
“The response has already been fantastic,” said Shanna Pollard, president and publisher of Kaua‘i Publishing Company, the parent company of The Garden Island.
“We’ve already received submissions from as far away as England. This is a great opportunity to interact with our many readers, and showcase this fantastic island we call home.” Contest submissions are being accepted via e-mail at photocontest@essentialkauai.com, and by regular mail at Essential Kauai, P.O. Box 231, Lihu‘e, HI 96766.
All entries must be received by June 1. Contest rules and detailed information can be found inside the latest issue of Essential Kauai, available island-wide, or online at www.essentialkauai.com/photocontest2006.
