Noted Kaua‘i surfer Chava Greenlee has found success on land as well, with a double win at the latest Kaua‘i Motocross Riders Association race in Wailua on April 30.
The Koloa native was the only participant to take home two top finishes (250 expert and veterans).
In the mini wahine contest, Rachell Allianic managed to top the field, with Anuhea Huddy and Kelli Berry rounding out the top three.
Kilikai Ahuna claimed first in the mini A race over Bronson Laborte.
Brian Morales captured the quads B competition, followed by Sheldon Garcia and Keola Taniguchi. Brandon Carvalho ousted Brian Medeiros for the 60 A win.
In the 80 B contest, Michael Carvalho raced past Brandon Carvalho, Makana Makaneole, and Kaena Kauhaulua for the win.
Chris Sandobal cruised in for the 125 amateur victory over the likes of Jerrid Ham Young, Luther “Da Liger” Burney, Ryder Mueller, and Tyrus Cardinez.
Isaac Oshita found himself on top of the flat A competition, followed by Dave Amorin, Randen Allianic, Burney, and Ernie Taylan.
Kody Pagador took home the 250 amateur trophy, with Tommy Berry and Mikey Abell rounding out the top three.
In the mini B race, Braden Pagador beat out Treysen Barretto and Kurt Napoleon. Paul Medeiros ousted Pancho Lopez in the quads A contest.
On the flat track quads C contest, Sherri Braun took down Rozlind Lopez and Natural-Lee “Tita” Garcia for the triumph.
Chris Byram won the 80 A race, as Jake Monroe held down the second spot. Matt Walcher blazed for the win in the 125 novice, with Oshita following up Greenlee in the veterans race.
Ham Young was victorious in the flat B contest, followed by Val Balauro, Art Rosqueta, Rodel Domingo, and Alex Berry. Harley Genegabuas won the 250 novice division.
The next KMRA race is scheduled for May 28 at 10 a.m. Pre-registration is set for May 27 from 12 noon to 5 p.m., which is also designated as clean-up day.
