KALAHEO — The Supersonics and Kamikazes picked up wins in the 12 and 16 Under divisions during the ZZ/Rotary Club of West Kaua‘i Youth basketball program’s final week of play Tuesday at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center.
Casey Anacleto scored 10 and Nicolei Banashihan netted six, pacing the Supersonics’ 23-11 win over Island Heat, a team returning to the competitive arena following a week’s layoff due to its members having prior commitments.
Jennifer Grady of the Island Heat put up a game-high 11 points in the first of two 12 Under contests.
Makana Fujimoto topped the Kaulupono Kamikazes’ victory with 10 points in their 23-17 showing over Papalina in Game 2. Lacey Lucas added six points to that effort.
Rea Accorda finished with a game-high dozen in the losing effort for Papalina. Cheyanne Duarte and Krysta Kali added a deuce apiece.
In Game 3 action, the first of two 16 and Under contests, Sera Pascual and Chaelyn Briones finished with six points each to lead Kaulupono to a 24-17 win over Wailua.
Leilani Laranio, Jondi Das and Hanalei Gomes each finished with four points for Wailua.
Sanoe Keliinoe blossomed for a game-high 17 points to lead Team Central to a 41-28 romp over the Gee’s Angels in the final game of the night.
Kira Taylan and Lauren James each added six, and Janessa Grady finished a point back at five for Team Central.
Gabby Matayoshi led the Angels’ scoring with nine points, followed by Mahea Hanie-Grace’s five.
