The Office of Planning and the Hawaii Coastal Zone Management Program encourage any interested parties to register for their Rural Standards and Tools Workshops by Monday, a press release states.
They are the second set of informational workshops on rural planning, held in each county during between June 13 and 19. Kaua‘i’s workshop is June 19 in the Ali‘i Room at the Aloha Beach Resort from 12:30 to 5:15 p.m., and is free to the public.
“The June workshops will explore a range of rural standards, alternative infrastructure and service standards, alternative site design and other practices and tools that are being used to manage growth in rural areas and maintain rural communities, landscapes and environmental quality,” Ruby Edwards said in the release. “The workshops are to assist the counties and the state in examining how rural land use policies and standards might be improved to ensure that Hawai‘i’s rural areas and communities remain part of the legacy we leave to future generations.”
