HONOLULU — Gov. Linda Lingle’s office announced Friday that her Lana‘i Council of Advisers will meet at 5 p.m. on July 25 at the Lana‘i Senior Center in Lana‘i City to discuss agricultural land use.
Duane Okamoto, deputy to the chairperson of the Board of Agriculture, will speak on the implementation of the Important Agricultural Lands Act, or Act 183.
Anthony Ching, executive officer of the state Land Use Commission, will discuss identifying and mapping Important Agricultural Lands.
“The governor encourages the community to attend and provide input on agricultural lands and other state government issues,” Nani Watanabe, chairman of the Lana‘i Council of Advisers, said in a press release.
The Lana‘i Council of Advisers holds monthly public meetings to seek community input and advise the governor of important issues, public priorities and recommendations for state boards and commissions.
