“We’re trying to improve every year,” Kaua‘i head coach Keli‘i Morgado said. “I don’t like to get caught up in the wins.”
Morgado said he wants to get every player on his team to be on the same page when the regular season comes around.
“I tell them they are an individual that’s a part of a bigger team,” he said. “Their job is to become better in one area. That’s all I ask for.”
On Saturday, Kamehameha-Big Island travels to Vidinha Stadium for a game against Kapa‘a.
There is also a JV contest on tap before that contest, beginning at 4:45 p.m., between Waimea and Kapa‘a.
The KIF regular season kicks off on Sept. 8, with Waimea battling Kapa‘a at Hanapepe Stadium.
The contest will be the first regular season event for Waimea head coach Kyle Linoz.
Kaua‘i and Waimea take to the field on Sept. 15 at Vidinha Stadium.
