Higa named UH corporate sales director
University of Hawai‘i has named Glen Higa, the sales manager at ESPN 1420, as corporate sales director for the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa athletics department.
UH athletics director Herman Frazier made the announcement yesterday. He will begin his new duties immediately.
“Glen has excellent sales experience and a real familiarity with the UH athletics department,” Frazier said. “Having worked with UH’s radio partner, ESPN 1420, he understands the goals of the department and will work effectively with our various corporate partners.”
Higa, 36, will oversee the department’s corporate partner program, coordinating sponsor inventory, packaging, sales, fulfillment and corporate relations. He will also be involved in other external areas, including marketing, advertising, promotions and ticket sales initiatives.
“As a lifelong UH sports fan, I am thrilled to have the opportunity to become a member of the team and work with great corporate partners and fans, who enjoy being a part of UH athletics,” Higa said.
Higa most recently served as the sales manager at ESPN 1420, where he was instrumental in developing the national sales program and various promotions for the station.
Previous to that, he served as an account manager at KHON2.
