Helping an aspiring contractor on the island is as easy as spending the day at the breathtaking Po‘ipu Bay Golf Course.
The 13th Annual Contractors of Association of Kaua‘i Scholarship Golf Tournament is set for Sept. 9 at the home of the Grand Slam of Golf.
The two-person best ball (low net score) formatted tournament begins at 7:30 a.m., with a shotgun start.
“This tournament also has a Callaway Flight for players who do not have established handicaps,” CAK spokeswoman Karen Taketa said in a press release. “The awards luncheon will follow the completion of the tournament.”
Goodfellow Bros. is the sponsor of the hole-in-one contest. The Po‘ipu Bay’s scenic 17th hole will be the site for the $25,000 cash prize for all players who make a hole-in-one on that hole.
Golfers who shoot a hole-in-one on any of the other par-3 holes will win electric equipment, golf clubs or trips.
Petro Construction is the sponsor of the putting contest this year, where the prize will be $2,500 cash. In addition, two golfers will be selected to participate in a shootout for $1,000 cash.
The 13th place team will each be presented with the American Savings Bank Las Vegas Getaway. The first place team will win a Maui golf weekend at a Resort Quest property.
Tournament entry forms are posted at Wailua Golf Course and are available at the Po‘ipu Bay, Kaua‘i Lagoons and Puakea Golf Course pro shops.
Entry forms are also available at the Pro-Am Golf Shop in the Rice Shopping Center.
Proceeds from the annual golf tournament funds CAK’s scholarship program for Kaua‘i students who are majoring in a contruction-related field of study either as an undergraduate or as a post graduate in an accredited college or university.
