Jairie Polani Asuncion-Ganancial died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on September 19, 2006.
He is survived by his mother Tiare Asuncion; grandparents Vanessa Grogan, Michael and Rene Asuncion; maternal uncles Michael Asuncion-Magnani Jr., Matthew Asuncion-Magnani, Elias Espiritu, Ethan Asuncion, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Private services will be held.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted family with arrangements.
Richard Isao Sakoda
Richard Isao Sakoda of Lihu‘e died at home on Sept. 16, 2006 at the age of 96. Born in Lihu‘e on Sept. 2, 1910, he was a retired captain with the Kaua‘i Police Department. He is survived by his his wife Kimiyo; sons Richard Sakoda of la Palma, Calif. and James Sakoda of Kailua, O‘ahu; daughter Sharon Waldbaum of Dows, Iowa; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother Jerry Sakoda of Honolulu and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may visit with the family from 10a.m. to 11 a.m. on Sept. 27 at the Lihu‘e Christian Church. Service at 11 a.m. Casual or aloha attire is suggested.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary.
