Lourdes Valdez Gonzalez died at St. Jude Hospital in Los Angeles, Calif. on Aug. 24, 2006, at the age of 79.
Born in Santa Rosa, Ilocos Norte, Phillipines, on July 26, 1927, and she was a former Hanama‘ulu resident. Preceded in death by her husband, Urciso Gonzalez, son, Bredito Gonzalez, and great grandson, Brendan Leary, she is survived by her daughters, Fresnaida (Jaime) Ganiron and Leticia (Mariano) Visitacion; grandchildren, Marlene Leary, Jeffrey Ganiron, Sharlene Torres, Melbourne Gonzalez, Jason Ganiron, Jayleen Ganiron, Bredito Gonzalez Jr., and Chad Visitacion; great-grandchildren, Meghan Leary, Emma Leary and Brent Torres.
Family and friends may visit with the family on Friday, Sept. 8, at Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. for the wake and again on Saturday, Sept. 9, at Immaculate Conception Church with visitation from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 9 a.m. Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
