Lillian Kato Teshima
Lillian Kato Teshima of ‘Ele‘ele died at home on Sept. 26, 2006, at the age of 78.
Born in Lawa‘i on March 31, 1928, she was a registered nurse with Wilcox Memorial Hospital.
Preceded in death by a brother, Robert Satoru Kato, she is survived by her husband, Masaki; son, Melvin Kazuto (Alison Kinoshita) Teshima of Pocatello, Idaho; two grandchildren, Kimberly (Tom) Mihlfeith of Boise, Idaho and Kei Teshima of Twin Falls, Idaho; and brother, James T. Kato of California.
Friends may visit with the family at 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 6 at the Hanapepe Hongwanji. Service officiated by the Rev. Hashimoto will begin at 4 p.m. Casual attire is suggested and that flowers be omitted.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Donald Gladman
Donald Gladman of Hanapepe, died Sept. 15, 2006, at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital at the age of 50.
Born Aug. 29, 1956, in New York, he was an electrician.
He is survived by his mother: Charmaine Archer; sisters: Glenda (Dean) Silva and Jaeda (Curtis) Elvenia; two brothers: Steven (Amelia) Gladman and Christopher (Lisa) Gladman; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
Friends may visit with the family at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7, at Kapaa Missionary Church, where a celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Dollyan “Dolly” Basa
Dollyan “Dolly” Basa of Koloa, died July 19, 2006, at the Hale Kupuna Health Care Center in ‘Oma‘o at the age of 63.
Born April 23, 1943 in Waimea, she was a custodian for ITT Industries at Pacific Missile Range Facility.
She is survived by four daughters, all of Las Vegas, Nev.: Valerie (Paul) Peters, Darlene Pereira, Allison (Ernest) Vasquez and Janell (Dino) Basa; sister Dawn Agao of Honolulu; 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family from 9 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 4, at Borthwick Mortuary, where service will be held at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Kekaha Public Cemetery.
