Lydgate Park and the Kamalani Playground Saturday. John was out for his morning swim Monday and was pulling a discarded Christmas tree out of a pile of driftwood in preparation for their full moon fire. Maybe they’ll do a preview burn before the full moon …
Hats off to Sue Keller, Terry Sekioka and all those involved in the 8th Annual Agricultural Trade Show … Sandi Kato-Klutke (Nora was great on the phone, and if you want an exotic name, visit Gilly at the front) was going to go, but found out about it too late. Ginger Keller (Girl Scout cookies, anyone?) was doing a great job calling out all the lucky winners, and when the prizes ran out, even gave away the leftover roast pork lunch. So what will she give away when the farm fair rolls around?
Wataru Tanaka is more than just the help at Ishihara Market. He is an award-winner … just look on the wall the next time you stop for the poke or plate lunch.
Congratulations to Waimea coach Teddy Pereira on the great field treatment for the final Menehune home softball game Saturday … that design in centerfield was really nice. Too bad Manny Henriques had to leave early, and where was Ariel Mizumoto’s aunt to enjoy that view? Three RBI would have made for great video. Teddy and the Menehune come to Isenberg tonight in Waimea’s final regular-season game … they clinched the second round so a playoff on Jan. 24 is imminent. OK, ’nuff said … it’s off to KIF soccer at Vidinha and the softball game.
