Makalii Pratt, Pualei Pratt, Makoa Pratt, Sophie Britzmann, Jennifer Lyon-Mackie, Cody Ishiguro and Devin Williams recorded 100 percent improvements in all of the events they entered at the Making Waves II swim meet Saturday.
More than 40 swimmers from around the island converged at the Kaua‘i High School pool to take part in the event hosted by Swim Kaua‘i Aquatics. This is the second in a series of five USA Swimming sanctioned meets that SKA will host on Kaua‘i this year.
Alannah Reynolds, Kiki Abrams, Ryann Linthicum and Jenny Lyon-Mackie each posted new state championship qualifying times.
Reynolds, swimming in the 17-18 age group, got her time in the 200 Back while Abrams, a 9-10 swimmer, posted qualifying times in the 50- and 100-yard Breaststroke. Linthicum, an 11-12 swimmer, and Lyon-Mackie, a 9-10 swimmer, secured times in the 100 Back events.
Nina Albano, Anya Littlefield, Kaeo Kruse, Jackson Littlefield, Makalii Pratt and Kalena Wong finished the event by posting new Hawai‘i AA times.
Swimmers posting 4-of-5 best times included Kate Machorek, Bryson Baligad, Maliana Kaui, Kaeo Kruse, Audrey Pigott, Hunter Rogers and Kalena Wong.
The next Making Waves meet will be held on March 24.
