Recyclers have a new place to redeem qualifying aluminum, glass and plastic containers, county officials announced Friday.
A HI-5 bottle redemption center is now open in Koloa, located at 2810 Po‘ipu Road, next to the fire station.
Kaua‘i Community Recycling Services, which also runs the bottle redemption centers at the Kekaha Landfill and in Hanalei, will operate the facility.
The redemption center will only accept clean and empty beverage containers with the HI-5 label, according to administrators within the County Recycling Office.
Customers are should sort their containers categorically before going to the center. They also should arrive at least 30 minutes before the center closes.
The center is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday through Thursday.
