WAIPIO — Bryton Lumabao was the big hitter yesterday in the Lihu‘e Mustang All-Stars 5-4 championship win over the Mililani Warriors at the Baseball in Paradise tournament at the Central O‘ahu Regional Park.
Lumabao went 3-for-3 with two singles, two RBI and one double. Other leading hitters of the game were Nakoa Ibaan, who was 2-for-3 with two singles and an RBI and Michael Farley, who was 1-for-2 with a homerun and an RBI.
Cal Koga, Keoki Planas and Nick Vallantini spread out the pitching duties with Vallantini getting the win.
Earlier in the day, the All-Stars defeated the Kaneohe Orioles 14-4 to advance to the championship game.
“Our kids just don’t give up,” said coach Milton Koga. “They play hard all the time and they just really came to play.”
Throughout the tournament, the team went undefeated, scoring 55 runs total and allowing only 12.
The team got a trophy, the coach a plaque and each player received a medal.
