Participants in the County’s Junior Leader Volunteer Program were recently honored for their hard work and efforts in a special ceremony held at Lydgate Park.
Mayor Bryan Baptiste and Parks & Recreation Director Bernard Carvalho presented the junior leaders with Certificates of Appreciation, along with gift cards from area businesses.
Among those recognized: Cianna Abalos-Okamoto; Taryn Alisna; Dennisa Andaya; Kaleo Brede; Tiana Esaki; Abel Guerra; Taylen Hardesty; Dominic Johnson; Dalton Kahale; Mary Mattos; Bronson Muraoka; Kea Nacolatobua; Austin Oshiro; Isaac Ramboyon; Tevyn Rita; Ellene Ruiz-Farias; Jelacia San Agustin; Sienna Santiago; Kylie Silva; Nicole Stuple; Ryden Tacbian; and Kory Uemura.
During the county’s Summer Enrichment Program, which ran from June 13 to July 20, the junior leaders were provided leadership training by the Parks & Recreation staff. In turn, they served as mentors for the children in the summer program.
