Edith Y. Oride
Edith Y. Oride, of Lihu‘e, died at home on Sept. 27, 2007, at the age of 79.
Born in Kapa‘a, on Aug. 27, 1928, she retired with Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital as a registered nurse.
Preceded in death by her husband Hideo Oride, she is survived by daughter Mia (Gerald) Ako of Lihu‘e; sons Dr. Michael (Gail) Oride of Lihu‘e, David (Jo Anne) Oride of ‘Ewa Beach, Leslie Oride of Hilo; three sisters, Nancy Unemori of Moloka‘i, Janet (Ismo) Yoshishige of Lihu‘e, Leatrice Tanaka of Lihu‘e; two brothers, Philip (Helene) Yamagata of Kapa’a, Ronald (Janet) Yamagata of O‘ahu; five grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. on Oct. 13, at All Saints Episcopal Church in Kapa‘a where services will be celebrated at 11 a.m.
The family requests aloha attire and graciously declines flowers.

Masami Ebesu
Masami Richard Ebesu of Kapa‘a died at home on Sept. 18, 2007, at the age of 87.
Born in Kapa‘a, on Oct. 1, 1919, he was a devoted husband and loving father. He retired with the county of Kaua‘i as a carpenter.
He is survived by children LaVerne (George) Huddy of Kapa‘a, Bronwyn (Bob) Farias of Kapa‘a, Maureen (Carl) Dusenberry of Waimea, Derek (Cindee) Ebesu of Kapa‘a, Zoe Ann (Myles) McCullen of Kapa‘a, 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation with the family will be at 9 a.m. on Oct. 13, at St. Catherine Church. Services will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. by Fr. Edgar Villanueva.
