The Marine Corps League, Kaua’i Detachment, the Salvation Army and the Navy League of Kaua‘i are sponsors for the annual Toys for Tots drive. They will be collecting and distributing Christmas gifts for needy children here on our island.
In 2006, more than 3,000 toys were donated, a goal the organizations hope to surpass this holiday season. Any assistance the public can provide would be greatly appreciated and would help to exceed last year’s totals.
Collection sites will be available starting Nov. 26 through Dec. 21 at all Bank of Hawai‘i branches, including Hanapepe, Kapa‘a, Lihu‘e, Po‘ipu, Princeville and Waimea. There will also be additional drop-off locations at all fire stations. Gifts and donations can also be left with Marine Corps League members at the entrances to Wal-Mart and Kmart, each Saturday and Sunday from Thanksgiving weekend through Dec. 23.
Make sure that all gifts donated are new and not gift-wrapped. All proceeds from the donation will remain here on Kaua‘i.
