Hawai‘i’s Colt Brennan named as O’Brien semifinalist
FORT WORTH, Texas — Warriors quarterback Colt Brennan is featured on the 2007 Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award (“The O’Brien) semifinalist list, which was announced earlier this week.
The semifinalist list is comprised of these 15 players, three of which were nominated through The O’Brien’s inaugural fan vote. This season marked the first time in the history of The O’Brien that fans had the ability to vote for their favorite quarterback.
Fans are now able to vote for the semifinalists candidates as often as once daily on The O’Brien’s Web site, www.DaveyOBrien.com.
The combination of votes from the selection committee and fan vote will determine the finalists and winner this season, with 5 percent coming from the dedicated fans.
Voting will remain open until noon CST on Sunday, Nov. 18, at which point the three finalists will be determined. The fans will then have the opportunity to weigh in again and help determine this year’s winner.
Finalists will be in attendance for the announcement of the 2007 O’Brien winner on “The Home Depot College Football Awards Show” on ESPN Dec. 6, in Orlando, Fla., and the winner will be honored at the 31st Annual Davey O’Brien Awards Dinner in February.
