The Waimea High School finished the 2007 Zippy’s Hawai‘i High School Athletic Association Cheerleading State Championships with an 11th place in the Medium Division Sunday.
Making its third appearance in the state cheerleading competition, the Menehune finished with a solid 273 points above Kamehameha Schools-Big Island who netted 258 points.
The Menehune trailed both Campbell and Roosevelt who finished in a tie for 9th place at 281 points each.
Top honors in the Medium Division went to Radford’s squad which tallied 345.5 points followed by Moanalua High School (326) and Baldwin High (322.2) from Maui.
Top honors in the Large Division went to Kamehameha Schools-Kapalama who topped the field at 351.5 points followed by Mililani at 301.5 points. Kailua (279.5) and Kamehameha-Maui (197) rounded out that field.
