And the winner is…
Pedro Tagatac.
The two-time weekly winner from Lihu‘e won the final Football Frenzy contest by successfully predicting nine out of the 10 bowl games in the special Bowl Edition.
The Garden Island received a record number of ballots for this particular contest from our Frenzy regulars Nancy Burton, Felipe Bigno and Col. Jerald Knudsen and even had ballots from visitors.
His only blip was the Capital One Bowl where Tagatac chose Florida over Michigan. Michigan won 41-35.
Tagatac almost picked Hawai‘i to win in the Sugar Bowl, but decided on choosing Georgia.
“My heart was with Hawai‘i, but then I didn’t pick them,” he said.
The Football Frenzy is now officially over, with only the college all-star and the NFL playoffs games left.
