Happy birthday to Lanaly Cabalo who had a whole bunch of goodies and well wishes at her desk when she came to work Friday! OK, so next on the agenda is the Oscar party, but that’s in Honolulu.
This week, Tryston Dela Cruz, Austin Salvador and Peterson Lahip (how many of them are there?) get to try out their skills on the floor as the county opens up the 11 and Under boys league starting tomorrow night.
Peterson’s older brother Alden was one of the KCC Bake Shop people who wrapped up its four-week run Friday … mahalo to chef Martina Hilldorfer who came over with apple and papaya chutney.
That is just some of the goodies for the weekend as Ron Badua and Basilio “Bunga” Fuertes joined the rest of the West Kaua‘i United Church crew in making Becky Komaki’s malasadas at the Waimea Town Celebration.
Hats off to Chris Faye and Fire Chief Robert Westerman and all their committee on another great event. Chris said Patty-Boy Malama even had time to go home and change into a clean shirt.
Ken Carvalho started out at Kilauea School and ended up working at the celebration along with the KPD Incident Command Center, and Stel Pimental had a whole bunch of new Sandy Vincent lights and blinkies. Sandy was one of two original vendors who started 10 years ago at the event.
